Hi,
I have use of a company mobile much of the time so I dont use my personal phone often. I have switched it on yesterday after returning from an assignment and get "SIM card registration failed". I have no doubt this is because I have not made a call or topped up in 3 months, but according to my account, I still have £16.56 credit. Does anyone know if I simply add a top up now will the SIM card re-activate or do I need help from Customer services ?
thanks

Thanks all for the suggestions, but it appears I am too late and apparently a Mobile number has to be used for a chargeable call within six months and topped up within 999 days to keep it active. My mobile number has been disconnected from the O2 network in line with the terms and conditions and I have no way to recover my number or even my £16.56. So, let that be a warning to anyone else, I am not taking the offer that customer services made to apply for another free SIM, O2 just dont have a product that suits my usage needs, so I am off to giff gaff.

Call customer service and they will reactivate it without the need to top up. As Adam says you need to make a chargeable call every 6 months.
