I’ve just signed up to O2 on an eSIM on an iPhone 16 Pro Max. The option to turn on 5G SA is greyed out in my settings

Make sure O2 know you are on an iPhone. The handle then differently to other phones.

Ask for idata

Turned out the first esim wasn’t 5GSA compatible. I’ve spoken with O2 on the social network formally known as Twitter and they issued a new eSIM and it’s working now

Good that it's now working.

At least someone in O2 knows what they are doing

@Dave-O2

Did this happen as you suggest?

I signed up to a new contract last week and the 5G SA option is greyed out on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I’m presuming this is going to take nagging at the social media team on X to rectify or a visit to an o2 shop?

I would just go into store with Photo ID and get a new 5G SA sim, and my advice stick to plastic as the esims are flakey at best on o2

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

@Dave_W As @madasaf1sh suggests

I got rid of an eSIM and moved back to plastic.

I'm on Android so there isn't a separate selection in network type but we have just got 5G SA where I live and everything works fine.
