O2 Price Promise?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Ok,  So I've been a loyal o2 customer for nearly 10 years now, and several of those have been on cotract with them.

I was just wondering as I am nearing the end of my contract period, that if I found a cheaper deal (for a phone on their network) would they match the price?

Surely they would want to as it would keep the competition from getting any commission on the deal.

Any thoughts are welcome.

O2 now operate a fair deal policy where old and new customers are treated the same. They don't normally price match but if you call 202 and choose the option to leave you will get through to retentions who may offer you a good deal to stay with o2. Ring again if you aren't offered a decent deal, it invariably depends on who you speak to.

Call CS on 202 and tell them you are thinking of leaving and see what they offer you - that's all you can do.

Gone are the days of a discount for a loyal customer.

Customers for 10 years are treated almost the same as a new customer. 😞

Oh well that's a shame.

In all my time with them only ever had one issue and that was reasonably easy to sort out.

Anyone think they'd likely do the same in-store or are they likely to be a bit "reading from a script" if I were to ask?

No worries if not.

Even less likely in store, I would think.

Cheers @MI5 and @jonsie it kinda confirms my thoughts.

Wouldn't cpw try to take commission on any purchase?

CPW (and other independents) get paid a commission from the networks, but be careful they don't try and sell you add-ons you don't need.
