New contract after paying off old contract, sim has rolled over?

I have a new phone contract, but I would like to end my old contract which has been paid off but I am still paying for the sim, how can I transfer my number over and will I be paying for both bills when I'm only using one number? I didn't sign another contract or intend to continue with this contract sim after paying off the phone contract, I'm confused as to what to do as I don't want to be paying for two contracts?

You will need to contact customer services on 202 or 0344 809 0202 and they will be able to move the number over.

You will pay for 2 contracts until this is done.
