Hi all,

first post here so thanks in advance for any help.

Background:

I am currently half way through an 18 month sim only contract on O2 (10 pounds a month). My phone has broken and i'm looking to buy an iphone XR through AO.com. The new phone is also on the O2 network (but much cheaper than anything on offer directly through the o2 website).

my o2 says that i can cancel my existing contract with 30 days notice and no cancellation fee, so my question is this: If i cancel my existing sim only contract and purchase the new phone contract via AO.com, can i keep my number? (and if so, how?) There is lots of information about using a PAC to take my number to a new network - however i'm staying on the same network but moving supplier.

Thanks again,

Dan

You just need to call O2 to migrate your number Guide: Migration & porting into O2

However, there would normally be a fee to cancel a simo contract, so you should check with customer service first to confirm that.

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
