Hi,
I am trying to buy a SIM-only contract but my address is not listed on the site (I moved into a new build about 3 months ago). I tried to ring sales but they weren't able to help either.
I was advised to contact Royal Mail to get my address registered - they have now confirmed it already is? What else can I do? Why is there no option to manually enter an address?
Ironically I probably could have got an O2 contract if I signed up to it when I ordered Virgin Broadband (they seem to have my address)....

Just to post an update and an answer for anyone that needs it in the future.
O2 are unable to manually add addresses to the system at any department (Sales, customer service or in store).
If your address isnt showing you need to report it to royal mail here https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/update-your-address
This is not instant (I did this 3 months ago and my address still isnt showing ) apparently different companies update from royal mail on different schedules. I guess O2 isnt that frequent.
You can check if your adress is already registered here: https://www.royalmail.com/find-a-postcode
I have filled in the form again just in case... but for now its just a waiting game (or find another provider)
Hope this helps anyone looking for a similar issue. 😊

Normal advice would be to contact the sales team as they can help with that – message them on Social Media if that works best for you -on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)
Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255
However, if they have already failed you, you could try popping into your local O2 store.

So 48 hours later still no luck, phoned again and was told to go in store.... in store were unable to help either.
Why is it ao hard just to sign up... is this a sign that i should juat give up now?

It's an annoying problem that Royal Mail offer two databases to businesses, and naturally many of them use the cheaper.
You didn't say whether your new build was a house or a flat. I live in a newbuild block of flats, and many firms only show the block, not the individual flats. It can then be a hassle to get the proper address accepted.

Hi @danco,
It's a house, but you can use that same form for updating the details of any building, including updates to business addresses/names etc. For a flat the address would be something like this:
Address line1: 35 Block Name
Address line 2: The Road
Town: Town
Post Code: AB12 3CD
At least that's how it used to be for me when i lived in a flat....
It takes about 5 days for royal mail to add it but then just a waiting game for companies to pick up the update. Hope that helps.
