Hi there,

I would like to take out a contract for my son, who is 18, online. But I wondered if this is possible. He doesnt currently have an O2 account/contract in his name. If it would be possible, I would like to know how you get to assign who the new contract is for when you purchase, is this done via the name on the bank card, or is this done via another way?

Thanks

If you want to take an additional line on your account

You need to call O2.

All numbers are in this guide

Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling,

Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.

8am is the best time to call

@Anonymous14

The account name needs to be in your sons name but he'll need to pass the credit checks, which might be a problem depending on how his credit rating is.

It doesn't matter where the bill is paid from and can be changed at anytime.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Anonymous14 I'm fairly certain you would not be able to put the contract in his name. It would have to be yours, as he most likely doesn't have any credit history as yet. I believe you could set it up so that the monthly charges are taken from his account, if he has a current account in his name, but you'd have to sort that out with customer service using the link @jonsie has provided.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
