Network/data issues

Hi, over the past year I’ve noticed my signal/data is just getting worse and worse. My phone will show 4G or 5G but can’t open internet pages or social media apps. I’m also quite a bit of the time not receiving messages and not being able to send them.  I have lost count of the times I have logged issues with the network, there seems to be constantly issues with local masts or it states it gets busy here. I’ve been a customer for o2 for over 10 years now and wondered if anyone else was facing the same issues before I seriously look at changing to a new phone network.

@zleitch

Many areas suffer the same so if you can find a network that works better for you, move to it when you can.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I am surprised by what you have said @zleitch because it is unusual for the network to be so congested that text messages cannot be sent or received. I suggest that you work through these guides to see if there is anything therein that might help :-

Guide: How can I sort out my network issues?

Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone?

Meanwhile, it sounds like you might already be familiar with :-

My Network App - Find Out More About Your Network Coverage | Apps | O2

https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

If you do decide to change network, I suggest that you get PAYG SIMs for the other networks and carefully test each, indoors and outdoors, in the areas that you frequent. Do not rely on the coverage maps, as these often do not represent real-life reality. 👍
