Network Signal lost in NE66 for over a week

Anonymous
Not applicable

It's not good enough to say you have a problem with a Mast and can't get access from the landlord. We have had NO SIGNAL or RECEPTION for over a week here in NE66. Surely, a company such as O2 doesn't have to be kept waiting for a farmer or whoever owns the land to get access and repair the fault. This is the 2nd. time in 6 months that this has happened here in Northumberland. It's just not good enough. How do we claim compensation?

All you can do is submit a formal complaint.

In surrey it took 2 months for the mod to give access to the land.

Unfortunatly o2 have never stipulated fix times due to access issues. The requirements for access are set by the landowner and have to be adhered to.

CS might give a goodwill gesture once services are restored but they don't have to.
Asking politely for compensation of downtime is the only way.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It would be interesting to see the "access" contract that surely networks must have when they place masts on private land.

I'd guess that they would demand access to be freely available between, for example, 0800h - 2000h with prior notice of arrival unless there are extenuating circumstances eg lambing or calving on a farm property.

@Beenherebefore Agreed but that postcode is too wide to work out what may be causing the delay  but main restrictions are masts on mod land and sensitive car testing areas etc and buildings again that may require security clearance. Seen to many examples on here like the land rover testing area mod in surrey.

I am no expert but all networks have the same issue.

At present my home mast area is showing red on the live status so let's see how long it takes as it is in the middle of a field .
