Just switched to O2 and I notice the 2G option is missing from my device.

Any way to fix this as the 3G / 4G signal is only a few bars.

where as 2G signal is full bars if i force the phone in developer settings to only use 2G I can get signal but it then wont switch to 3G / 4G.

Any fix for this?

If I put in a Vodafone SIM the option returns.

It will do so automatically, it's just no way to lock it onto 2g only.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

It sounds like configuration by Motorola on the handset as checking the handsets on my desk, and all have 2G available as an option.  (this is with Enterprise Sims, and 2 5G sims).

It might be worth raising in the motorola forums via motorola.co.uk

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

It's based on the options available on your sim.

O2 have turned off the 2g options for many phones now.

This makes sense as Moto Confirmed its O2 who instruct them on which settings to display.

My question then is if the phone cannot get 3G / 4G will it fall back to 2G automatically or will the phone have no service then.

thanks
