Should the monthly Direct Debit amount increase during the contract period without any notice ? If not, how do I get a refund ?

being a business customer that is a vat company all companies normally round up but the which campaign is a waste of space won nothing and ofcom will log your complaint but not act . follow the correct complaints procedure at the bottom of this page .

I couldn't agree more! 02 are making a small fortune out of their loyal customers. To be honest these increases never happened years ago, least don't think they did. if they can increase your charges, what's the point of a contract???? you sign for a fixed amount and it should stay that amount for the duration of your contract.

Hello Pam good evening

There has been much debate over this and no one likes to see a price increase. However if you check the terms and conditions (in my case it was in section 5) of your most recent contract you will see it is in there.

I don't agree with raising prices mid contract but o2 have put it in the contracts that were agreed to when we signed up or upgraded. Therefore o2 are acting within the terms of the contract and you have, by taking the service, signed up to it and therefore the price increases.

If you look at o2s more recent advertising you can't miss it as a new customer either.

Holistica/Pam glad it's not just me, was expecting the normal get over it responses. Looks like some of us like to complain whereas others sit on here all day digging at those who dare to question O2 (each to their own).

bandofbrothers - Many thanks for your polite, constructive response. I have already contacted O2 and am waiting on a response

To be honest only1p I have had some quite vicious fights with o2 in the last year and have fought my ground very very hard. I certainly don't agree with everything they say or do.

I just really can't see the point in wasting hours of my time arguing over what is a maximum of 24p over 2 years. Yes I think it is petty (sorry I don't mean to offend but it is my opinion). But if you wish to fight that out and spend hours of your life that you won't get back then feel free. We have advised you above how to do so and I wish you well with it.

I'm not a new customer as been with o2 since BT cellent days and are now nearing the end of a two year contract. This increase surely was supposed to be explained to NEW customers at time of taking the contract out and not for long term customers. If it was to include long term customers they're supposed to notify you about ANY changes in price but I never got any such notification and only noticed on my bill online.

I've infact lodged a complaint with o2 about this and have signed the online petition too. This loophole must be raking it in for o2 and possibly other servers too, which is shocking as, as I've previously mentioned, when you sign a contract you sign in good faith that the amount you sign for stays the same for the duration of the contract-usually now 2 years. I now can not see the point of signing any contract if servers are going to feel free to increase their tariffs yearly. It's most unjust and has never in my knowledge happened before.

A right royal rip off by rich companies who are taking it out of their loyal customers.

 

This is also the second complaint I've lodged with o2 as first one was being errm 'mislead' (lied to) by the online chat side.

Not good enough o2!

Can I please stress I DON'T like nor do I agree with mid term price increases.

I was a new customer this time round and purchased through CPW who did make it abundantly clear about pricing.

When upgrading it is my understanding that the sales agents took people through the key facts out at least referred people to the terms and conditions available on the website? ?? Is this not the case?

I would strongly argue that just putting them on the website is not in its self sufficient. I liken this to mortgages where you are given a "key facts" list of important things you need to know. Price increases must (in my opinion) be a key fact.

On another thread there is a report about o2 having the least complaints in 2013, Q1 2014 (as stated by @DaveThorpe should make interesting reading. ....
