So, around 6 months ago I moved into a rural area without a phone line. I decided to get a 3g wifi sim for 30g to use with a huewei dongle. When setting up in store I was given (without my knowledge) a business contract which is uncapped. There is no way in the world I could possibly go over every month and be charged some months £400 plus for a £25 contract. I've ruled out all possibilities for going over the set amount, e.g changing passwords, disconnecting when not at home, hiding the thing. Even when I called costomer services last month they said I had 7g left to use within 2 days which i didnt use at all and have still recieved a £244 bill. I use my phone more than the dongle which i only have 5g on and I never go over. ive been with o2 for 10 years plus but if this doesnt get resolved there is no way in the world I will use or recomened their services ever again. In 6 months I have been charged over £1200 with no one able to give me an explenation as to why... help??

It's completely unethical being given a business ontract without your agreement. Business contracts should not be given unless proof and invoices of a current business is provided like you were once required to do. That should be the basis of your complaint. You ca't go over your allowance on a standard consumer account.

Do you mean dongle as in usb into laptop dongle or dongle as in Huawei standalone wifi pocket hotspot type dongle ?
Cos if its plugged into your laptop then windows or MacOS will use it as a main network connection and devour data, these days laptop/desktop OS are designed with cloud access front and centre and restricting access to it is much harder than on a phone, as there are so many background processes taking place. On a wired WiFi connection from a broadband provider you won't really notice cos mainly those are are capped for speed not not usage. Even connecting a laptop to a pocket hotspot version is liable to see data usage rocket. Tho those can be configured more easily to throttle certain types of data heavy usage traffic.
Dongles are really designed for people who travel where there is no WiFi signal and users will usually hook up to local wifi wherever possible
I'd disconnect the laptop completely, turn off its wifi and use the dongle stand alone in a phone's usb adaptor 3 pin plug something outputting .5 or .1 amp . Then get a wifi tablet for going on line.
Or get a phone line.

@AshleyK The charge per mb is 2.5p https://www.o2.co.uk/sites/default/files/docs/o2-mobile-broadband-for-business-tariff-terms-from-6-n... so £25.60 a gb so very easy to rack up the extra charge so 15 gb over limit =£ 384 you need to get on to o2 business customer service to resolve this

Is O2 business billing breakdown any better than myO2 which is in the ark?
All you get is number of kb used in any given date time session when connected to apn mobile.o2.co.uk with country code and any cost.
Tho apparently a three second call to an 0845 number costs 46p
