So I took the plunge and moved over to a shared data tariff and I thought I would share how it happened in case anyone was wondering. Here are the details.

I currently have a iPhone 6 Plus on 20GB refresh tariff.
I also have an iPad air on a separate 3GB refresh tariff.

I called O2 and said I wanted to pay off the remaining device tariff on my iPad and then share my 20GB between the two as I wasn't using all 20GB. It was done within seconds and the entire iPad was paid off and now I'm on a £7 sim only tariff for my iPad but I can use as much of my 20GB as I want. They have carried over my 30% discount so it will be less then that.

I am paying just around a third of the airtime balance for my iPad but the bonus is I can use as much as I want. Also the lady which helped me had a sexy voice. Woop

Just a thought . . . .

If you have an iPhone 6 (20GB data) and an iPad, why not simply hotspot from your phone to your tablet?

Unless you (and another) are using them in separate locations?

I used to do this but I got sick of draining my battery for the hotspot when I needed it. For the sake of £7 I thought it was just easier to have it constantly connected and use data when it wants and updates.

Also I use my iPad a lot for work lectures to control my Mac and do internet based things so its easier than having my iPhone battery drain all day.
