I closed my O2 accounts at the end of March this year and paid off the airtime and device plan on 31 March. At this time it was confirmed that no more was owed.
However, since March I have been receiving regular threatening letters from O2 suggesting that I have defaulted under the Consumer Credit Act!
I have phoned O2 twice and apparently I still owe £6 on my device plan. However, here is the farce, O2 owe me £6 for overpayment of airtime. This is obviously an error by O2 in distributing my payments but apparently the overpayment of airtime cannot be transferred to the device plan!!
I wonder how much O2 is spending on these letters I am receiving??
I would be very happy to pay the £6 to stop receiving the letters from O2 but here is the second joke: I have been told to ring 202 but I don't have an O2 account anymore. The last lady I spoke to at customer services told me to put my phone down and dial 202 on my landline. I was not surprised when this did not connect!!
Customer service is a farce. The £6 is here O2 if you want it and tell me how I can pay it instead of sending threatening letters every week.

@Anonymous Try to get this sorted asap. Hopefully you can avoid a negative mark on your credit rating. Also included at the bottom of the contact link is a link to make a complaint, which you also should do. http://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain
