I have one contract for 2 4 months , now one year has passed and although my paperwork says that I can downgrade after one year the advisers are saying that things have changed and my contract doesn't have a cheaper options. I can see the 50 minutes one on the webisite but they insist that I cannot downgrade as my contract is for 24 moths...   is there anything I can do ?

Call customer services - have a copy of your contract scanned so that you can email it in to the person you're speaking to.  Confirm that your contract states you can downgrade.

However, even if you are allowed to downgrade it will only be one step from the contract you are on, because by doing that you agree to the new Terms and Conditions saying you can't downgrade further.

Example : You're on a 300min tariff that allows a downgrade.  You will be offered to downgrade one step to 200min tariff and thats as far as O2 will allow, because by moving to that tariff you agree to take on the new Ts and Cs.  O2 won't allow you to downgrade without accepting the new Ts and Cs.

What is your tariff name? It should start with the letter Q.

If you took your contract last March or after they stopped the 12 month downgrade option during that month (March 2012). If you have it written then you can downgrade, if it's not written in your contract you have to stay as you are.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It was taken in mid March last year. My first page of the paperworks says my name, the number, the type of contract and in brackets it says that it can be downgraded after 9 months !!!

Who should I complain that they don't respect their contract ? Customer services keep saying that my contract can't be downgraded.
