Delivery of new phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have just placed an order for a new phone contract online. I chose the phone to be delivered on thursday as I will not be at home until then. The order details say 'next day delivery'. I was wondering what will happen if the phone is dispatched earlier and no one is at home to take the delivery.

Thank you.

They may leave it with a neighbour.

And the courier will ring you to let you know.

It will be left with a neighbour or taken back to the delivery depot for you to arrange collection or re-delivery......

O2 say that the courier will return it to the depot if you're not in:

From the FAQs page:

Frequently asked questions

Where will my order be delivered? To protect your goods, we will only deliver your items to your home address.

What time will my phone be delivered? It will be delivered between 7:30am and 9pm, unless you have selected the "Before 10am" or "Saturday before 12 noon" delivery options which cost £10.20. We are unable to specify an exact time that your phone will be delivered.

Does someone need to sign for my phone? Yes,because of its value a signature will be required

What happens if I am not at home to receive my phone? If you're not at home to receive your phone, the courier will leave a card with details on how to contact them to rearrange delivery or to collect the phone from their depot.

To the OP :

My partner had a phone delivered via courier from O2 this Thursday

She was not in so the courier rang her and advised it had been left with a neighbour.

It may be down to the courier and if their is a neighbour willing to sign for it.

I personally wouldn't want anything of mine being left with a neighbour and if it wasn't delivered to me I didn't receive it just me

It's a choice I suppose.

With people working etc they can't always be in so having a neighbour sign for it is another avenue of choice.

I guess it depends on your neighbour. Mine to the right, I'd trust with my life, the ones on the left however..........!!!!
