Hi All,
Over the past few months I've had numerous delays in messages being sent from and delivered to my phone ,but it's only happening with one specific number. As this is my significant other's number it's quite irritating to have this continuously happening. I frequently (2 - 3 times per week) recieve a text 2 - 4 hours after its been sent:, or will find out that a text I sent several hours previously has not been delivered.
As it's only happening with this one contact I don't believe it's a network issue, would anyone have any advice or knowledge on why this is happening/how to resolve it?
Texts are from a HTC One X to and iPhone 5, O2 to Vodafone.

My wife had this problem a few years back, texts from specific numbers not getting through or being delayed. Changed the sim - no change. Phone was sent away and checked - no change. Eventually the geeky people at O2 sorted it out, we never did find out exactly what the problem was, basically it was a proplem at the message centre. When they fixed it over 100 messages came through together.
I would hazard a guess and say your problem is the same, for some unknown reason your messages are being held / delayed at the message centre.

I too am having the same problem and once again it's with just one contact, my partner, who is also on O2. Messages indiscriminately vanish in both directions with no visible pattern, some arrive others don't. Like the rest of you it doesn't make for an easy relationship when one of you thinks the other is ignoring you, only to find they simply haven't got the message!
O2's advise has just been to switch phone off and on again, or to force it to try logging onto Voda's network then switch back to O2. This works if I've been waiting for messages from her as they then start to arrive, however mine to her never arrive at the other end at all!
