I have 2 contracts with O2 which are, pay up front for life (PUFL) accounts, that I took out many years ago.
before the new EU roaming charges, I was able to access the internet abroad for £1.99 per day, with a 'bolt on' which was fine and it meant O2 made some money from me.
Since the new EU roaming charges were introduced I have not been able to use the internet abroad on my phone and when I contacted O2 they said there was not a data package available for my contract. Surely this is narrow sighted of O2 as they would get a payment from me for using the internet.
If O2 are trying to force me to five up my PUFL accounts, this will never happen and, if I need to get another account for internet access, I will go to another provider.
Has anybody got any idea how to get O2 to let me PAY for internet access on my phone?

O2 want everyone off the old tariffs. I suspect you will have to change tariff or provider....

Honestly, o2 is not the only mobile network who is doing that though. 3UK is even worst. I was on their £15 per month plan for unlimited data/ unlimited minutes / unlimited text messages. Suddenly I've received a text message telling me that my plan will be cancelled for no reason. I can take my business elsewhere if I am not happy or I could upgrade to the £32 per month plan.
That is not a good way to win customer support. O2 is way much better though. At least O2 customer service will listen.

I am not arguing the merits of O2 or other providers, I want to use the data service and I am willing to pay the same as everyone else but they will not allow it.
I can get a much cheaper data service in the country I want to use it, but it's the hassle of using 2 devices.
