You get a notification/warning at 80% and another at 100% -then you need a bolt-on or alternatively an upgrade to a tariff with more data to get back online.
Thankfully, they don't just keep charging you without telling you ....

If you use more data regularly you need to move to a different tariff.

That is correct if you change tariff.
