Data usage - data suddenly does last!

I get 15GB per month, which I’ve never managed to ever use up except for last month when I had to buy a bolt on for the first time £16.99 for 4GB. My data refreshed yesterday and I’ve apparently already used 4GB of this, my phone is on low data mode and uses only 3G most apps I’ve turned the data off for and I’m connected to WiFi most of the time. How is this possible? Has anyone else had the same problem? If this carries on I will have no data left after the next 3 days and I cannot afford to keep buying the bolt ons! I find it strange that it’s so sudden when in February I only used 8GB for a whole month?? And usually use around 12GB. Please let me know if anyone else has noticed their data usage go up dramatically?

@Lucie1

You should call O2 so they can check for you.

Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

You can also check in your phone settings to see if an app is using more data than normal.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@MI5 I’ve tried calling, can’t get through as they’re only taking calls for upgrades and fraud so I thought best to try here. I’ve checked my apps and most have the data turned off for them anyway. Thank you for your reply

No one here can look at your account or interrogate your usage.

You must keep trying O2 and say fraud or upgrade just to be connected to an agent.

If you wanted to track your data usage you can do so by going to Settings > Cellular > Mobile Data.

Another thing to check is Wifi Assist as this can use more data if switched on. You can check this by following instructions above and below your list of data usage you will see Wifi Assist.

If none of this helps contact customer service on 202 or 03448090202 and they will be able to further assist you.
