Hi @Garymcg
Try switching your apn to mobile.o2.co.uk which should sort out the problem.
However, should the problem persist, please do come back and we'll try to help.
In the meantime, welcome to the forum

Not sure what international roaming bolt on you bought? These are only available for use in the UK when calling countries abroad and on PAYG

I couldn't use data, calls nor sms when I was in France and Belgium recently.
I tried to restart the phone, reactivate 4G, use 3G, manually selecting a local network.
mobile.o2.co.uk didn't work because I had no data signal.
I tried using a different device and had the same problem.
How can I check if it will work before I go to France again, without being in France (I can't call the O2 helpline because there is no phone signal).
Any thoughts?

You need to call customer services before you travel to ensure there is no roaming bar on your phone

It certainly sounds like there is a roaming bar on your account so call or you could try live chat. Calling 202 would be my recommendation.
