Data isn't working on any apps

Hiya,

I'm making this post on behalf of someone who is also with o2 who's having massive issues.

They currently can't get any data use from their contract on apps or the web. It allows Google searches but any link clicked on leads to parental controls and to call a short number.
On the other hand it also requests to sign into o2 as a notification on the phone system. Once clicked it also says that's blocked by parental control.

We have tried many fixes. On/off . Airplane mode on/off. Tried about 5 different APN configurations. None of them work. Other Sims in the phone work. So not a faulty phone. This is the second sim sent from o2 too. So isn't a faulty SIM.

Have also tried calling the parental control number and turning it off. To which we get texts saying they have been turned off but in reality never turns off.

Calls and texts work fine both ways.

Could someone please suggest something that could actually work and not to link me to other threads, if they roughly cover what I've already done. (Because I've already read them)

It's a pain I can't speak to a human for customer services. At this rate we'll block the payments to o2 via the bank until they can sort themselves out.

Many thanks people!

@Paddymcpadinton

The only thing I can think of trying is to dial ##002# which should cancel all diverts that may be setup on the account.

The diverts set are usually call based put could possibly be influencing data somehow.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I've just tried that on their SIM and it came back with "call forwarding, connection problem or invalid MMI Code "

What could this mean?

@Paddymcpadinton You need to speak to customer service. O2 aren't very much interested in talking to customers these days unless they're buying something or upgrading. If you want to discuss your issue with customer service, below is the advice from an O2 Guru on how to get through.
Call 202 from your mobile.
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.

Other available numbers here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Use the Lost/Stolen or Fraud option if you have to, to get through. Otherwise you'll just be disconnected.

DO NOT stop payments. You will only be shooting yourself in the foot and creating more problems for yourself. O2 are ruthless with non-payments and can easily ruin your credit rating in the blink of an eye.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
