I was a o2 customer and I had several phone contracts with o2 in the last 10 years.
I am currently having a very serious issue with my mortgage application due to the contract I had taken with o2 in Sept 2007. I had this contract for nearly 6 years and paid all amounts on time without any issues. However during the cancellation period, there were serious miscommunication from o2 regarding the final bill and I had so many calls with o2 customer service to resolve this issue and settled all the payments via debit card payment. They have also gave me the payment reference which I have kept for few months, to double check with my bank statement and once I see the payments out of my bank account, I did not keep the reference as Its all resolved.
However I have now had a mortgage refused due to my credit history as its says on the history that it was “partial settlement” (instead of settled) something I was completely unaware of. I am not sure why it was recorded partial settled when I have settled all the money?
I would like this error to be rectified in my credit records, and done as a matter of urgency - this is holding up a house purchase so I cannot wait, it needs to be done ASAP.
I did a lot of search on the internet and its look like I can only contact o2 via email to resolve this but it will take 10 working days to get reponse? i don't have that much time so i don't know what to do. I didn't expect this from o2 and looking at the forum, there is serious custromer serivce problem in O2.
Could someone advice please?
PS: I even had an o2 contract recently and didn’t have any issue with credit checking / contract, it was approved instantly. if I didn’t settle the money for previous o2 contract, how did they offer new contract?? it does not make any sense.
Thanks
Regards,
Eelavan

I thought your credit history only went back 6 years?
If this happened in 2007 i'm surprised it showed up

You could try calling cs and see if they can put you through but they aren't a customer facing dept so they may not.
