Credit default mistake

So, I took a new deal with O2 but found a better one before the SIM arrived. I cancelled the O2 deal over the phone within my return period and hadn’t even used the SIM.

I was advised it was all ok and cancelled. Months later I now have a default on my record for this sim. I called customer service who advised it wasn’t closed properly but is now. They also advised they would get the credit default removed. 2 months later and it hasn’t been. I also emailed the credit email address 4 weeks ago and again 2 weeks ago to no avail.

Im getting ready to remortgage and very worried the default will affect things.

Who the hell can I get to resolve this? Any ideas as I’m lost.

thanks in advance.

You are better doing a query via one of the Credit Reference agencies, and they can contact o2, and only if someone from the Credit Referrals Teams agree, so Customer Services shouldnt be commenting as they dont make the decisions.

Also bare in mind it can take upto 6 weeks for any Credit Report to be updated, with any changes, and these from all credit providers is taking a lot longer at then moment.

The Credit Referrals Team, can take a while to reply...

Hi madasaf1sh,

Can you let me know if your problem has been resolved? I have similar issue where we cancelled a contract within cooling off period, O2 has put default, contacted O2, which they now have closed the account with a credit and no outstanding amount. However, they mentioned they will not update the Credit File which is affecting our mortgage application. No problem of ours, but end up with a default on Credit File.

Cannot reach Payment Management Team.

So looking at how to resolve the problem.

Regards,

Bhas
