The cost of the phone stays the same, its just the monthly repayments go up to match the length of the credit agreement,
EG £1000 over 12mths is £83.33 per month
£1000 over 24mths is halved
£1000 over 36mths is a third of 12mths payment
It all nds how much you want to pay can afford
