Yesterday I received a call from a number 07506 562133, who said they were from O2, advising me that as I had been a loyal customer for so long, I was entitled to a reduction of up to 50% of my monthly contract cost. I hang up when they said they needed personal information from me, as they were not allowed to access my data. Then the same person ( Matt ), called again on another number 01264 534147, telling me it was a legitaimate and above board, but I was not convinced. Could someone or O2 confirm if these calls are being made to customers, as they came across so convincingly and do not want other customers to fall foul of it if they are scammers? Many thanks.

@Ursy O2 don't call or text from mobile numbers, which would make me think it's a scam, although it could be from one of O2's so called 'trusted partners'. Either way I wouldn't trust it.
Best thing is to call customer service to find out if they are on the level.
Call 202 from your mobile or 0800 032 1402
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Best time to call is 8 am.

Hi, I received a similar call today from an 028 number (omagh in Ireland?) Saying I had been loyal and offered £10 off my monthly bills until the end of my contract. They knew my email, the numbers I have registered with O2 but wanted my password to process the discount. Told em no way, not to a random cold caller!

Could be one of o2's un"trusted" partners, make sure you untick all the marketing boxes.. and tell em to get lost...

I get a regular call every few months from someone saying they are from o2 trying to get me to upgrade.
I politely say I am happy and end the call.
