Hi everyone,
I've been with o2 for nearly 3 years now, however my contract technically ended in January 2015 (it was a £27 per month, 24 month contract - I believe it was £200~ upfront also). I originally expected to be able to upgrade to a shiny new iphone 6 at that point, but the prices on offer were obscene, so I did nothing. Since then, o2 somehow took it upon themselves to renew that 24 month contract, despite my phone being paid off. So I am still being charged the same £27 a month every month, despite a 'sim only' contract, offering the same minutes and data being only £18 a month. This has rubbed me rather the wrong way, and I'm consdiering switching to another network. My question is - what do I need to do in order to begin the process? I would like to keep my phone number but that's about it. I believe I technically still have a contract with o2 despite my original expiring - but I am unsure of how to go about ending that, or if I even can.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the help. It is a bit confusing to me, as if I choose the change tariff option on my account it simply tells me that there's nothing available to me, that my renewal date was January of this year and that it's a 24 month contract. The upgrade options are far more expensive than introductory offers from other networks. So I think I need to call them and have a chat tomorrow. If I don't get what I'm after I will request my PAC thingy and I'll be moving to a black friday offer from another network.
Cheers again for the fast response and helpful link, if anyone has any other advice I'll be sure to keep checking back.

The Black Friday offers from other networks look good. Make sure though you don't take up a so called bargain only to find your signal with the new network is poor. Try some free payg sims with other providers to find one that suits your needs
