Changing numbers and upgrade

Hi - my son who is not yet 18 needs his number changed as he is being hassled by some lads. If I do this now will it negate the option to upgrade the phone ie does the upgrade belong to the phone or the original phone number?

No it wont negate the upgrade as the number will be changed on o2's system, and the upgrade is linked to the Account Number.

@RLS O2 will allow you one free number change. Call 202 from your mobile, or 0800 032 1402.

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling,

Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.
