In the past I've bought things through the app store for a few quid here and there so it's never really crossed my mind, but recently I charged £55 from Google Play through my o2, it was a big enough change in my bill that o2 sent me an alert stating that I'd spent this amount above my normal bill and that it didn;t include the to be added VAT.
But the bills from Google play clearly state I've already paid VAT on these items, so how can o2 justify charging a second lot of VAT which is actually going to be higher than the original amount as I'm going to be paying VAT on the VAT I've already paid. Is there anyway to get this back or do something about it?
Just seem like a little bit of a con to me.

As you have made in app purchases, how can you be sure that O2 charged you these amounts of Vat? It sounds as if there may have been an issue with the app store itself?
It wouldn't surprise me to be honest, Google had a massive outage on Monday which affected many Google related systems.
However, if you want to query this with O2 then you need to call them
