I have an iPhone 12 with a 5G Sim. I’ve been in Italy for a week but only get the E network through Vodafone which is super slow for internet connectivity. I get full 5G in the UK.

My wife has an iPhone as well but with a 4G Sim (iPhone SE). She gets full 4G coverage in Italy with a provider but wondering why I don’t.

Only network I can connect to is Vodafone no matter where I am in Italy.

Any ideas as to how I can get better a better connection? I get I can’t get 5G in Italy but wondering what could be stopping me using 4G.

Hi @Sergypie

Try changing the connection type from 5G/4G/3G to 4G/3G/2G

Also there are NO 5G roaming partners on o2, at all at this point in time.

Try changing your data apn to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

Thank you for the suggestion. Connection type was set to 4G already. No success with this setting.

@Sergypie

You may have a roaming bar on your account then so you'll need to call customer service to check.

In the end, no proper explanation from o2 after calling. Just one of these things.

O2 Unlocked my phone so I can buy another SIM abroad and a partial refund for the month 🙄.

Would be good to know why rather than a ‘sorry, life’s tough sometimes’.
