3G simplicity plan

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

I am on a £9 a month simplicity sim only contract - it is 3G only.

I have a 4G capable phone and 4G appears to be arriving in my neck of the woods over the next few months.

If I was to upgrade to a 4G ready simplicity plan would this mean a new sim card?

If it does mean a new sim would I be able to port my current number?

Thanks in advance.

Uppgraded to the £13 a month 4G ready plan, the extra mins will come in handy anyway, plus there is a month free offer at the moment, plus I will get the excitement of seeing them test 4G.

I also do spend time in Cambridge where they do have 4G coverage.

Thanks again for everyones help!

My O2 showing the upgrade order in progress!

The status checker says work starts on the 26th to upgrade the 2G,3G networks and the 4G roll out has hit this area. As far as I know there are only 4 masts covering Newmarket.

I have an O2 mast about 100 metres away at the top of the road, line of sight too (lucky me) and this is on my dog walking route so will keep an eye open for engineers from the 26th!

I will keep you all updated as things occur!

Upgrade to tariff completed a few hours ago on a walk with the dog noticed this - very weak and very intermittent but def a 4G signal - nearest documented coverage is cambridge over 10 miles away. So hoping maybe the ball is indeed rolling!! Screenshot_2015-03-22-14-58-21.png
