Hi all at o2.
Can you please tell me how, in this day and age, I still cannot get 3G connectivity in my town? The reason that I joined o2, some 11+ years ago, was because of the superior coverage in this area compared to the competition available at the time.
I only live 28 miles south west of Glasgow. Dunoon to be precise.
With the advent of 4G on the very near horizon, would it not be prudent to at least upgrade the rest of us to 3G, (since you are still charging us the same prices), since all of your competitors already have.
Regards

The coverage map is here if you haven't seen it:

Hopefully the new network will have something better to offer.
T-Mobile, Vodafone and O2 all appear to have their masts in the same location:

I think the only place that i can get 3G here is outside the local kebab shop, with favourable meteorological conditions and at night. This is because it has direct line of sight to the mast accross the river I suppose. 🙂

Lol. Despite my love of kebabs, that one rates fairly poorly on the old kebabometer.
I looked at the 2 tools mentioned above. I knew that all the masts were on the same tower, central BT exchange, However I can't seem to get the coverage checker to work. Have got silverlight installed and used it before, checked to see that add-ons are enabled and tried using IE8 and Firefox. Will try on my netbook later to see if there is a driver problem on this machine.
I have used this before, but my address showed only 2G coverage (despite my central location). I also remember checking for planned upgrades to the local network only to be told that there was not going to be any in this area.

OK, Just had a pint in the pub that is in the shadow of the mast in question, No 3G. 😞
