1.99 travel data not anywhere near 15mb

I'm in France. I keep exceeding my daily data of 15mb. I keep adding more data by texting more data to O2.

This works.

But. It runs out very quickly. So I've reset my iPhone data counter and it seems to run out after about 2mb or received data and 1mb of sent.

Only using Facebook. No vid downloads or uploads.

Any ideas why this is obviously not 15 mb.

Wife is on Orange. She gets 30mb for 1 pound. She does not run out. I run out about 5 times a day.

Using the phones a similar amount. Both identical iPhone.

I do not have any sync services turned on. No iCloud, no iTunes, no Dropbox.

Hi,

Maybe this link could be useful to you :

http://www.o2.co.uk/international/o2-travel

Some apps on the iphone run in the background and pull down updates so its best to always close these down by pressing your home button twice. Long press until they wiggle and press the little 'x' to stop them.

Also some apps use location services.

If one is being ised a little triangle icon will show in your status bar near the battery indicator.

You can also go into settings to see whats been using the locator.

Settings, Privacy.

Here it will show whats being and been used by the colour of the icon next to each app.

Also when your iphone goes into sleep mode it will auto switch to 3g from wifi so turn off mobile data and 3g to force it to stay on wifi.

E mails with attachments use a lot of data.

Siri usage uses data too.

Heres a link i found useful some time ago.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've already done all these things.

The usage meter would reflect all these services mentioned.

I still think there is an issue with the metering. 15mb is quite a lot of data.

It should allow extensive web surfing.

Any way of seeing how much data has been used via O2 billing?

I had the same problem in Poland last month.

I use about 600 mb a month in the uk and that's watching you tube and Bbc vids.
