I am unable to top up online as my sim card doesn't have the postal address linked on it. It is PAYG sim.

I'm in the EU and unable to top it up. I would prefer to top up using my own account online. Furthermore, it rejects any EU VISA cards.

Hi @PAYG

Please have a look at this Guide to see if it helps you at all:

https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-to-Top-Up-PAYG/ba-p/1156408

If the above Guide doesn't help, then you will have to speak to Customer Services:

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

8-8:30am UK time is the best time to call to avoid a long wait on the line.

I would just add that in order to top up on line using a debit or credit card, you must have a UK bank account. And the debit/credit card used must be issued by a UK bank. As you've already seen, European VISA cards are not accepted.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

@PAYG

The only way you can top up without a UK bank card is via this site https://www.mobiletopup.co.uk/

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thank you.

Also I read that PAYG is valid only if I top up once every 6 months. Is there a way for me to know online how much time I have left? Logging into my account on O2 shows me my number and the correct remaining credit.

Also, since I just picked up my PAYG sim and had topped up from a store when I was in the UK. I would like to be able to use it with default top up website of O2. Is there a way I can add my postal code to file for PAYG?

Other than the site mentioned by @MI5 you cannot unless you have a UK issued debit or credit card which has to be registered to the post code you enter.

As for an expiry countdown there isn't one, so long as you make a call or send a text every month you should be ok.

You can't add an auto top up for a non UK card at all as O2 won't accept it.
To keep SIM active you need to make a chargeable call every 6 months and top up every 999 days.
