I'm not a heavy user of my phone (i.e. I top up £10 about every two months). For some time now I've been on the 'Talkalot' tariff, which is promoted on the O2 web site as being for those who use their phones a lot. It costs 35p/min for calls.
Today I've discovered the 'Classic Pay as You Go' tariff, which would cost only 3p/min. That's almost twelve times cheaper. I'm left wondering what the catch is, although the O2 Chat line person assured me there isn't one.
It seems too good to be true. Have I missed something?

No Classic PAYG is designed for low users. It would suit you very well https://www.o2.co.uk/help/pay-as-you-go/classic-pay-as-you-go

The idea f Talkalot was that you paid 35p for the first three minutes then 5p a minute thereafter. It's a way outdated and uneconomical tariff. The Classic tariff is way better for you but bear in mind that talkalot would no longer be a tariff available to you once you change.

Thanks to all those who have responded. I'm very pleased to have found 'Classic', and have changed all our family's phones to it.
