Payment possible with a non-UK credit card?

Trying to top up my new pay-as-you-go O2 sim card with a non-UK credit card - but seem not to be an option? Called customer service who directed me to this site. Checking /searching on similar posts dating back in time to 2014 it seems that this was an issue then. Assuming there is still no solution in O2 for this? I pay my landline with BT having my own residence in the UK - they accept a residence address and a different payment address- - as I only am here part of the year and have residence in Norway - so hence no UK bank account - but for O2 - is there a fix to this?

You could try this route to top up. Helps many people abroad, @Frankie3:

https://www.mobiletopup.co.uk/o2

O2 won't, as you have discovered, accept payment directly with a non-UK card.

I have made payments from outside of the UK by having a UK card (AmEx) set in my MyO2 app card wallet as a contract customer - no use to you as a PAYG customer.

All the advice in here applies for PAYG, not sure how much use if you are in Norway atm: Guide How to Top Up (PAYG)

Good luck!

One other option.  If you know someone in the UK--preferably someone who also has an o2 account--they can top it up for you and you can work out how to reimburse them.  You give them your number and they can go online and top-up for the amount you designate.

Now you can also by an electronic voucher online at Tesco (and pay with a foreign card).

You can, @imz - but either in-store or via tesco.com you need to be in the UK - not much use for times when the original poster is resident in Norway... And quite often, @Frankie3, O2 will not accept cards from the newer Internet banking offerings available in the UK, eg Monzo or Revolut and the like. So it goes...

I did buy a voucher at tesco from outside the UK yesterday before posting my answer. And paid with a non-UK card. Then got the voucher by email.

(The only unexpected problem was that neither 4444 nor the landline number worked in the country where I am. Yes, I used the O2 sim-card, and this worked for me before from other countries, so I was surprised. But ultimately I was able to call the O2 landline number for topups by skype and did the top-up successfully.)
