I live at a hospital address. I wish to edit the address to include ward name. I cannot do this. payment is refused as a consequence because I cannot tell O2 to match my bank details.

This looks like something you’d need to call O2’s customer service team about – give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202
(or the specific Payment management number 0800 902 0217 )

You cannot edit a PAYG address and it's not required for payment either.
