All you need to do is send a text, use some data or make a call at least once every 6 months and top up every 999 days.

Hello @b4u2
Yes as @pgn says
It does not last forever
Make sure you use your phone in that time
With the MYO2 you can see your credit too.
Very reasonable to have such a great facility.
I like texting just a note to a friend occasionally.

Check the current web site, this has changed:

"If you don't top up, or add a Bolt On at least once in any six month period, your mobile will be disconnected and you'll lose any credit on your account. If you want to be reconnected you'll be given a new mobile number."

It hasn't changed. It's always said this but chargeable activity at least once every 6 months is sufficient.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Yes @j14lls
It does say that but in practise it works as mentioned, one person in my family on PAYGO nervously went passed the 6 month date and nothing happened low user occasionally text and phone call topped up over 6 months now. Just need to remember 999 days ! When probably won't need money in😎🙃
Just have to accept it.
