Hello, I am already an O2 customer, but looking to purchase a Classic SIM for my husband who uses his phone mainly for calls & texts and very little else, would this SIM work on the 02 network, he would be a new customer

The old Classic PAYG has well gone although a few third party retailers may have one.

The present PAYG offerings would not be suitable for that kind of use.

Think giffgaff and Asda might do something but few around these days

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

The best you can do on O2 is to start on a £10 big bundle https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go then text BIGBUNDLE5 for the £5 tariff to 21300 which will switch him to the £5 month call and text only tariff.
