It closed last March and nothing appears to be replacing it currently.

No nothing at all. It's been closed down and as far as I'm aware there are no plans to relace it with another scheme. After two different card schemes I think O2 have decided to leave it to the other prepaid card operators.

I asked o2 last month if they are going to do any other money cards and they said there are no plans to do it.

Yes it was but prior to that they had the O2 Money Card.

Both very similar, prepaid debit cards.

I had both over the years and while they were quite handy for kids, they were no better than the likes of Electron etc
