Unable to connect to Cloud (Sky) using 02 account at my local Pub

Anonymous

Hi

I use a Pub in Cheadle Stockport which has a My Cloud (now Sky?) connection, my Laptop (Windows), and Phone and Tablet (Android), all used to automatically connect using my O2 Hotspot Account. Now, I'm guessing, but I suspect that Sky have changed the login procedure as I simply get invited to enter my phone number (hard on a Windows Laptop!)

Anyone any idea of a way around this (or even the real cause?) - One things for certain  I AM NOT joining up to the Maxwells Fan Club!

From the SkyWiFi web page >>>

4. Locate and select 'The Cloud' from the list of available wireless networks. Windows will prompt whether you wish to connect automatically. Tick the box if you want your device to connect when in range and then click Connect. If not, just click Connect.

5. Windows may ask "Do you have a username and password for this WiFi Hotspot?" Select "No, open a web browser to complete the connection."

6. The Sky WiFi Landing Page should now appear in your web browser. Select Get Online.

pubs can be hard work to connect to hotspots, I was a chef in one and we had a o2 wifi hotspot and it was a *beep!* to connect to, this was mainly because the vast amount of electrical equipment and old stone walls etc so that can sometimes play havvoc when trying to connect... free hotspots can be slow and weak due to vast ammount of people trying to connect and the surroundings

I use the Sky wifi app to connect to those hotspots.
Not tried on my laptop but I guess the app would be available for Win10 systems too.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

On a rare venture to the pub a few weeks ago I noticed the sign on was different. Instead of connecting automatically I had to go through the same sign up process as posted by @Beenherebefore

Hopefully on my next visit on Saturday the phones and the Tab will connect automatically.
