Trying to unlock phone but told 'Not an O2 phone'

Hi can't get an answer via customer service as get stuck in automated menus that keep sending me back to the unlocking link at My O2...

I completed the online unlock phone request via My O2 and had an email back to say they can't unlock it as it isn't their phone?!!?!?! This phone has always been on O2, but I did buy it via Carphone Warehouse - could this be why they can't unlock it? Does anyone have experience of this?

Sounds very much like it's already unlocked. CPW only lock iphones. Try another sim card

Hmm OK, hope you're right will try it tonight - want to give it to my daughter as I've upgraded

If it's not an iPhone it definitely isn't locked.
