Pocket hotspot

I live in a rural area and my internet is terrible. As the signal comes and goes, between 4g and no signal at all.
Im on a pay monthly contract.
My quedtion, does the pocket hotspot have any kind of built in aerial, that would increase the signal strenght ?
As i have tried using my phone, which is a samsung galaxy A9. But has not really made things any better.
So i wondered if the pocket hotspot would be a better option ?.
Also if i ordered, does it have a cooling off process, so i could try, if no better, could return, before tied into the contract.
Any help is much appreciated.

O2 have a 28 day returns period but a pocket hotspot uses the exact same signal as the phone and won't boost it.

Far better to get one on a different network who have a decent signal.

O2 do a boost box but it's only for business customers.

Far better to buy an unlocked pocket hotspot to use a different network sim in. O2's only work with O2.

You could buy one from Amazon and use any other network sim in that.
