Phone call offering 50% discount?

I just had three calls in quick succession, two from a withheld number and one from 020 3695 6738, saying they were calling from o2 and “because of Covid” they wanted to offer me a 50% discount on my bill. Seems like a scam? After I said that, he called me back twice!

Probably a good decision unless you are waiting for your lunch. A quick Google search for that number suggests that it is a fish and chip shop.

If they were claiming to be from O2, it is "number spoofing" and hence a scam. If they were claiming to be Taylor's Fish Bar of 131 Randale Dr, Unsworth, Bury BL9 8NE, then it is probably authentic.
