Thanks for e-mail update on how o2 is improving coverage (or not) I was assured that my home would be covered by an upgrade of masts in the Scottish Borders before I renewed my contract in 2012, i still have no voice signal. I would like to know when TD46BA will have o2 coverage  John

Unfortunately you won't get an answer here as we are all customers like yourself. I got the same email myself today and it was more of a self-congratularly email than anything else.

Hello John Sunshine48. You are in very good company there. Even down here in so-called rich-man land (Kent), I have no signal in my home, and intermittent garden signal, after 4 years of complaining. My local town 3 miles away has SOME 4G and I would be absolutely ecstatic just to receive 2G reliably at my home (all flat land, no mountains in the way or anything). My son, living in Liverpool finds that the local 3G transmitters have been turned off to make way for 4G. Great - except his phone doesn't do 4G..... Grrrr.

Keep smiling. It makes them wonder what you're up to.... Smiley Frustrated

I'm sorry, but that is complete rubbish !!!

Yeah as MI5 said that is just simply not true, if anything the network in the area (2G/3G) will be upgraded. I've seen quite a few people claiming this though, I don't understand where people get 'information' like this from?

Do you really believe that the fact Kent is a rich area would make any difference?

And no 3G has not been turned off anywhere and is in fact being expanded, along with 2G until 2015 when 98% of the population will have coverage.

Where on earth do people get all this amazingly incorrect information?

It's correct that once the whole network is upgraded, O2 will have 98% indoor coverage. This is much more than what is offered at the moment by any UK network - currently about 60%-70%.

However, this will take time and all going to plan will be done by 2015. Fingers crossed!

Whilst the upgrade work is carried out, there will be periods where existing cell sites have to be taken off air but this is only temporary and doesn't last long.
