I have an o2 account and a colleague of mine has told me that she has 30% off  her bills for been an NHS employee. I would like to find out if this is correct as I work for the NHS and have done for the lifetime of my O2 contract and have never been offered any privileges.

No they won't loose their discounts until they renew their contracts when they will have to reapply for it.
