I purchased an iphone 3GS with O2 through CPW and was offered Geek Squad insurance £11.99 pm with this. I upgraded my phone to an iphone 4 when the time came (24month unlimited). Now over a year into that contract I drop my iphone ring geek squad and they tell me the policy I had was ony associated with the 3GS and I am entitled to nothing. Can anyone help? I thought the policy was attached to the number. They tell me in the small print this isn't the case. I am really busy and this numebr is important to my business. The phone is virtually unusable the screen is smashed so badly. Can anyone help/advise please.

Geek squad (Leonard) got back in contact with me and went through my story. He went back into his company and they agreed to reimburse me for the period I had paid but wasn't insured for. They have restored my faith in real Customer service.
Very well done Geek Squad (Leonard).

Geek Squad Insurance is in partnership with CarphoneWarehouse and not O2 so I think you will need to take it up with them.
However, it is like any other kind of insurance, you need to tell them that you changed phone or it wont be covered. It would be like taking out motor insurance for a Nissan Micra and then changing your car to Lamborghini which you then crash...you wouldnt expect the insurance company to cover you!

PapaDug is correct, only the device you registered will be covered and the insurance won't know unless you tell them.

Emmm....you were looking for advice/help, not to highlight the problem, so we gave you advice and help...go and speak to CPW
Not sure what you mean by "Guess they are the helpful messages in this forum right?" ?

Two requests in your original post for help are what we responded to.
When I get a new car I have to inform the insurance company, that applies to most cover sold.
We must be allowed to comment as we see fit!
