Email address used to obtain Sim Cards

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi everyone,

I recieved an email this morning to Say that my Pay as you go Sim card is on its way. This alarmed me somewhat as 1, My Name isn't Helen, and 2 I hadn't ordered a simcard.

I phoned O2 and after being passed from pliiar to post and over 1 hour on the phone I was told that there was nothing O2 are willing to do to investigate this issue.

Has anyone had any previous experience of this? I am happy in the explanation that they aren't linked tyo my account so I won't have any financial responsibility but what I am concerned about is that if these have been obtained using my email address what activity will they be used for.

All the representitives i sopke to re this didn't either understand what I was saying or didn't care.

O2 will not block these Sim cards as they do not believe that they have been obtained illegally.

Can anyone please offer me any advise on this matter.

You can write to O2 and tell them you want your concerns reviewed by the Fraud department to ensure you are entirely safe here.

The chances are, however, the person who ordered them just put down the wrong email address.

I have and they couldn't. Think is the email address is my full name co the chances of that are slim in my mind.

A Pay and Go sim is useless until topped up so you can just throw them away.

It will be interesting to see the delivery address for the sim cards, I'm sure O2 should be able to confirm whether they will be delivered to your home address?
