3G in Norwich

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello just wanted to know if anyone has little or no 3G Norwich . Maybe im being unreasonable but I don't think I am you see I have two Iphones 5s Mobiles (ones my sons and ones mine)with O2 and I pay nearly 80 pounds a month to have the 2 Mobiles, and We both stuggle to get 3G . My daughter also has her own contract with O2 and she has a iphone 5 and also has trouble with 3G .Now Norwich is a fairly big City ,and I would have thought that for that amount of money I would at least get 3G . I work in London 4G no problem as you would

expect,My wife's got a 10 pound contract with Talk mobile and a cheap mobile and shes gets 2G and laughs at us trying to get alittle 3G , by going to settings then cellular ,turning off then on again

I called O2 and felt like they didnt have a clue about what the problem was so i told the guy I will give O2 a year to sort the problem out (thats when my contracts run out on both mobiles) and if they cannot give me 3G In a big city like Norwich thats it, bye bye O2 .I might just add my sons friends are not with O2 and get 3G when they go to Norwich.

Is there anyone else having this problem with Norwich with there Iphones.

John

Hi

Check your service status http://status.o2.co.uk

And check though this http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

The network is seeming to be suffering from mast congestion as O2 improve their network too for some in the uk.

Sorry to add 02 network future is http://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/network-coverage/the-next-big-thing but it does make sense to move to a network that supplies good constant signal.

It's not an area that is well services by O2's 3g network. 2g should be fine but not 3g.
You should always go to the network that offers you what you need as not all can cover every area of the UK unfortunately.
This is O2's statement regarding network improvements but we don't have any more details http://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/network-coverage/the-next-big-thing
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Obviously there's nothing you can do until your contracts run out, but you should check the coverage with the other networks to see if you might get a better signal with one of them. Don't rely on the website coverage checkers, as they only give general guides about specific areas. Instead you'll need to get Pay & Go sims from the other networks and check signals for each.To do that you'll need to get your phones unlocked, which you can do for free while you're still under your O2 contracts.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Just to add to Bambino's excellent advice, there are a couple of help links here regarding leaving O2, obtaining a PAC and unlocking your phone.
