Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the forum

You need to make sure you have the correct message centre number stored in the phone

Open messages, settings and type in the message centre number :
Pay Monthly   +447802000332
Pay & Go       +447802092035

Once you have the right number from those above Try texting ACTIVE to 2020 , save the settings and reboot the phone.

Hi there @Anonymous

I couldn't really find much about this phone as O2 don't sell that model... I did find this settings for another Doro that is currently being sold... It may be worth a try?! It's for both Internet and mms. Hope it helps slight_smile

Make sure that if you have to enter O2 in the settings you use the letter O and not a zero.
  1. Tap the Applications key
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap More in Wireless & network
  4. Tap Mobile networks
  5. Make sure that the Data Enabled box has a tick in it (tap box to change)
  6. Tap Access Point Names
  7. Tap the Circle with a Plus on the Top Right of the screen
  8. Tap Name then tap the text box and enter O2 Pay & Go then tap OK
  9. Tap APN then tap the text box and enter payandgo.o2.co.uk then tap OK
  10. Tap Proxy then tap the text box and enter 193.113.200.195 then tap OK
  11. Tap Port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
  12. Tap Username then tap the text box and enter payandgo then tap OK
  13. Tap Password then tap the text box and enter password then tap OK
  14. Skip past Server as this is preset as Not set
  15. Tap MMSC then tap the text box and enter http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002then tap OK
  16. Tap MMS proxy then tap the text box and enter 193.113.200.195 then tap OK
  17. Tap MMS port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
  18. Tap MCC then tap the text box and enter 234 then tap OK
  19. Tap MNC then tap the text box and enter 10 then tap OK
  20. Tap Authentication type and tap PAP
  21. Tap APN type and tap Internet + MMS
  22. Press the 3 Dots on the Top Right of the screen
  23. Tap Save
  24. Tap the circle next to the new profile so a green dot appears in it
  25. Press the Back key four times to return to the main menu.

What To Do Next:

Switch your handset off and then back on to complete your settings.

The settings are now complete.

APN's have nothing to do with text messages so don't waste your time with those.
Text message settings are read directly off the sim card so you need to ensure you have the correct sim for the type of account you have and then reboot the phone. Settings will be set up automatically.

2020 doesn't work for most Doro phones, and as it was bought unlocked it will need setting up if the OP wants to use e-mail.He has been waiting for the settings until now...

I think he assumed that option was for generic settings like message centre number, etc .

These are just to complement the inf already given by Cleoriff

No one mentioned a problem with email or internet - the question was specifically about text messages which Cleoriff has correctly answered already.

Personally I would take the phone into an O2 shop...ask for a new sim and explain problems re texting. If that sim is failing to send texts from either phone and you have tried everything above...a new sim seems the next step
